Completing your Colorscapes...

Thank you to everyone who has sent me their colors capes  -as of right now, I have replied to all of the colors capes I have received at the address pakgurujonthon@gmail.com (which means that you should check your email - if you haven't received a response from me, it means I didn't receive your email...and if you DID receive a response from me, you may have some more work to do! But before you do that, read on...)

There were a couple of common problems I noticed, and want to address.  Please make sure that your Colorscape meets all of the following expectations:

1)  It should contain the words for the objects you are labeling - NOT the colors for those objects!  No color words should appear on your image.
2)  The words should be hidden.  If they are very easy to see, please try again.  You might have to draw them in and then scan your image to make this work.  Please note that this was what I wanted you to do all along - so being lazy and just grabbing a picture off of google images or your camera maybe wasn't as easy a way out as you originally thought. =O
3)  Please save your file as a .pdf, and make the file name your name, i.e. "Rizka.pdf."
4)  If you have a bunch of white space or advertisements on your image, please crop them out of save your picture using a different program.
5)  In your email, don't forget to include your name AND your unit.  It is taking me a long time to check my grade book to figure out what units you are all in.  You should always include your name and unit number on all work that you submit to me (or any teacher).

And with all that said, good luck.  I hope to receive all of your documents by Saturday night if at all possible, so that I can spend Sunday afternoon (**after our perpisahan/party?!?) grading them!

Oh yeah...and here are some examples of really impressive projects (there were many - these are just a few!) that you can review as examples:

Create a "Colorscape!" (due May 16th) [no class May 9th!]

By May 7th (if you can, 9th at the latest!), email me (pakgurujonthon@gmail.com) a list of (at least!) 10 items you will include in your picture, and their colors.  I will respond to your email to let you know that all your colors are correct or, if there is an error, to let you know what to fix before you start on your picture.


After you receive my reply and have (at least!) 10 items, all in different colors, you may proceed to create your picture.  You can do this however you'd like, but please put time and thought into it!  You can draw and color your picture, or arrange objects and photograph them.  It can be a nature scene, like those I showed you in class, or a street scene, or a scene from the minaret of your mesjid, or from the cabinets of your kitchen, or anything else - it's up to you!  Just make sure it has ten objects representing 10 colors.


Then, finally, label the 10 objects in dots.  Like the pictures I showed you in class, your audience should be able to see the names if they look carefully, but not be able to see them if they look from far away.  You can add the names using pen or pencil, or using photoshop or MS paint, or however you want.  (I have left the 10 Wordscapes I showed you on my desk in jurusan, and you are allowed to review (but not borrow!) them any time you'd like.)


Remember, if you manage to include an object for all fifteen colors, you'll get a *special prize!*

Color your...labels?

Please download and print this picture.  Try to identify as many objects in the picture as you can.  For every label you write, also write it's color!  I will bring a small prize for those who are able to label and correct identify the color of at least 50 things. =)

Then, try to figure out what's going on with all this fishy spelling...

I think we could use some more practice coloring our words. I've made it just a little more challenging by adding another syllable on the second page. Can you get them all right?

Sorry so sorry it took me so long to put up work!  Due to demos and traveling to Wonosobo/Dieng, I haven't had sufficient access to the internet to upload the documents below.  That said, I've got some stuff for you to review, and some new stuff too.  Happy learning!          ~Jonthon

Speaking of Colors, some of you haven't taken The Color Vowel Quiz. If your name is listed below (or if you just want to practice!), please go to that link.  You will find an audio file of myself reading all 50 words from the quiz, and a list of those words. Please take the quiz on your own (again, instructions are on the sheet).  Do the best you can (which means work on it individually and try not to use anything but your memory and the color vowel chart in your notes)!
